This week has been easier. The application of derivatives has been an interesting concept. I got my test back. I ended up missing some crucial parts of the concept and lost a few points. So I will have to fill out the mastery form and hopefully earn some points back. I am hoping that will be enough to bring my grade up to an acceptable level. The quiz that I took I feel fairly confident about I think that I did really well. The concepts I felt I understand. I believe that I successfully used the Mean Value Therom correctly to solve some of the problems. I believe I was correct on the more difficult concept questions and I’m confident that I won’t lose too many points. Monday when we take the second section I think I got. I believe that the only problem with that will be finding the first and second derivative. Other than that I know how to sketch the graph from the data gained from the first and second derivative. I know the rules to find the extrema and I know how to find concavity, critical points, and inflection points. I think that I will be able to successfully graph the function from the derivatives. Sadly I was not able to attend the Ted talk. I was on a field trip with the astronomy class. I am unbelievably busy this week my teachers really laid on the homework. I hunt on opening weekend so it will be fairly difficult to squeeze all the things that I have to do in. Overall this was a ok week. There was some ups and downs and I’m just glad that the trimester is almost over.

This week was fairly easier than the other weeks. Without marching band every day I have had time to work and study other things and now I have more time to work on math. This week has been interesting. Seems we are working on derivatives for a while now. Seems they will become an important part of calculus this year. I like the applications that we use them for. I never liked how they would just sit there and we didn't know how it would relate to the real world. The Ted talk this week was fairly interesting. I agreed with a lot of the points he made. For this new chapter I don’t think that ill ever get used to Disney music playing while I am working. Though I like it its just that I don’t think that I will get used to it. For marching band we only have practice now on Thursdays and Fridays to prepare for the football games. So it has been easier. I liked using a worksheet to take notes on. It makes learning the material easier. Though I wasn't there when you took most of the notes I still think that it was a good idea. I’ll have to borrow the note sheet from a friend at my table. The first section was a little harder than the second in my opinion. But that might just be because that was the beginning of the chapter so it’s the introduction of new materials and concepts. I like the concept over all of now finding c of the anti derivatives. I never though it was possible to do that. Even though looking back it was a pretty simple answer. Overall this has been a fairly easy week I hope that the next one is to.

This week was really busy. Most of this week felt like we were preparing for the test. Which we were. I got my quiz back. Ends up that it was less than stellar. I plan to do a video screen capture and submit my understanding that way. This week was very busy with the marching band preparing for state finals. I have been very busy trying to juggle all of my AP classes. I hope that after state finals next week everything will calm down and it will be easier to get all the things that I need to do done. I am glad that this section is almost over given that overall I wasn’t very good at it. Tomorrow I’m going to record a video explaining what I didn’t get about implicit differentiation. Though getting back my quiz was a pleasant surprise when I found out that some of the things I did ended up to be right. That I ended up being simplified. I also had a bit of trouble with chain rule. Though I’m getting better with it I don’t think it is one of my strongest points. I hope by the test that I will be able to answer all of the question confidently and correctly. I have been working on increasing my comprehension of the subject and I hope that it will be enough. I am excited to do the make up on the quiz I have wanted to try the program that I’m going to use for a while. This week overall has been a fairly tough week though I think I finally understand it. I hope that I end up doing well on the test on Monday.
P.S. We got back later that expected Friday for marching band I only got to finishing it now. Sorry!

This week has been so far a pretty difficult week. I've had a lot of problems with the U  substitution and chain rule. I like the concepts but they are hard to follow. So far this has been my first real trouble with the concepts this year. Even though I am studying I fear for the quiz tomorrow. I don’t think that I will do well on it given how hard the concepts were for me this week. I hope that I study enough to be adequately prepared to take the quiz tomorrow. The Ted talk this week was pretty interesting.. I looked ahead in the chapter and it seems to get easier from here. This seems to be a massive chapter. I just can’t wait to get it over with. I get some of the concepts. I am getting better with implicit differentiation. Today I was finally able to figure it out. With u substitution it is still pretty difficult. I think I got most of the major concepts with that, but the application is still pretty difficult for me. The chain rule  is also pretty hard for me . I am slowly starting to understand it, but it still remains as one of the hardest concepts this chapter. I got my quiz back. I can say I did about as well as I expected. I am happy with the score I got and am glad that this might offset some of the worse quiz grades. Friday will be an interesting day I hope that I end up doing better than I expected on the quiz. I hope that by the end of tonight that I figure some of the concepts out. Overall this has been a pretty hard week. I hope that the next one is easier.

This week was great. The quiz retake went really well. With the knowledge that I gained before I took the retake greatly helped. When I figured how to find the tangent line of a line it made the rest of the quiz pretty easy. The Ted talk this week was really interesting. I liked his take on jobs. Like how if you don’t follow what you want to do you will not have a great job. I also liked when he said that there is no such thing as a good job. I believe in a lot of the points that he made. I am also trying to find my perfect job. I want to succeed with this process. I like talks like this. That the motivate you with negativity. This is a pretty rare thing to see. I really like the concept of showing these in the classroom. They really motivate and is a great teaching tool. I saw the new Alma math question. I think that this one will be pretty easy to solve. Though I missed the quiz I think I am pretty well prepared when I make it up. I think that with the retake I greatly increased my grade and ended the marking period on a good note. I learned a lot about the derivatives as related to trigonometry and it’s functions I also managed to figure out antiderivatives and how they relate to the concept. This week has been pretty hectic. With marching band, a football game, a concert, a marching band show, and senior pictures. I’m glad that it is over with. Over all this has been a pretty progressive week . Though I’ve been insanely busy with all the thing that I had to do I managed to survive.

P.S. Ends up we ended up getting back late anyway… Sorry!

Well here it is, the final week of the marking period. I think that this was the worst week that I had so far.. With the concepts it was pretty difficult. The worse thing was the day that I was sick was the day you went over tangent lines which was an essential part of the quiz. The next day I didn't even realize that a quiz would happen that day. The quiz I though I did well. Until I got it back. Seems that my struggle with understanding the tangent lines really showed. The concepts to some  of them also escaped me. I also sadly lost points because of the wording that 8 used on some of my answers. Disappointingly I also found that it significantly affected my grade bringing it down a whole letter grade. So far that was the worse quiz I have taken. I do hope that here is something that I can do to maybe bring my grade up to an at least acceptable range. Though overall the concepts now I think are pretty easy. I get the tangent lines now after they have been explained to me and the concept questions no longer seem as hard as thy were. The work sheet that we just got is interesting. I like that the anti derivative of a function doesn't have a constant and has to be replaced by the letter c. The 4 step process I think I now understand pretty well, through I’m still working on finding the anti derivative. I hope I have better luck next week with understanding the concepts first thing and not until it is to late and hopefully that next weeks subject will be easier to grasp and learn.

This week was very interesting. I liked the concept about the slope at a point. The introduction to it with the real life example using speed in relation to the distance that the car traveled was a great way to start out the week. After that the assignments wee surprisingly easy to figure out. The usage of the four step rule made the problems surprisingly easy. It was interesting to me when the solution of the tangent was found it would be one less square then the original line. I liked how the line that you ended up with the points that it crosses 0 were the minimums and maximums of the original problem. I had trouble with the concept at first, but when I figured it out it became really easy. What really helped me with the concept was the four step  rule to solve the problem. When that was introduced it all became very clear how to solve the problems and what the concept was in general. All in all it was a very interesting concept and I am glad to have learned it. Because of my ability to grasp the problem so, I think that this week’s quiz will be pretty easy for me. I hope that it will be easier for me than the last one. My group really were the one that helped me figure out the concept. They really helped me understand it. The one sad ting this week was on Friday the lack of techno Friday was sad… Though I expect a techno Monday to make up for it. Overall this was a pretty good week. I expect that the quiz for this subject will be pretty easy and I can’t wait to take it. I don’t know why but I think this was my most favorite subject so far.

PS. This will be the last time that I am writing this on a mobile device. Seems that it dislikes publishing my posts.

I really liked this week. What really surprised me was with the Ted talk on Tuesday. It was unbelievable that a child from the video was able to make such a difference to his community.  I was amazed that he took a difficult problem with the tigers and turn it into a way to protect his cattle. I liked how he decided to put out the lights to simulate him being out there to scare the tigers. It might have been out of an act of desperation because if the cattle didn’t survive the family might not have either. I like the videos that are shown because they are really inspiring. I just too the quiz and I’m worried that I got a few wrong, what through me off was the rules of a horizontal asymptote. After the quiz I looked it up and I found out that I got it wrong. I do hope that I don’t lose too many points because of my answer. Other than that this week was pretty easy. It was a review week and the subject was fairly easy. The review was pretty through. I enjoyed most of the week, even though this is an AP class I like the pace being somewhat slower because of the full year course. I wonder if we will pick up steam soon or it will be this way the entire year. I hope that this will be the case, because my other AP classes also needs TLC and I am working on everything at the same time. This made it easier to juggle all the assignments for my other classes. Overall everything went well, though the quiz was a bit harder the week was overall easy.

This week so far has also been pretty easy. Limits I have no trouble with. Only figuring out some of the problem algebraically has been giving me issues. Most of the stuff has been easy with that but more specifically the only thing with limits I have trouble with is using the trigonometry terms. Sometimes I cant remember the rules of sin and cosine. But the group of people that I am sitting with have been helping me with that. Continuity has been giving me no problems so far. Once you know the rules and how to use it, it becomes pretty easy. So far going through the homework only a few problems have been giving me trouble. These problems I hope to get figured out tomorrow. On another note I would be writing this on Friday but I am part of the marching band so I have to be at the game. After the game it would have gave me very little time to write this blog post. The video you showed us about monster prime numbers was very interesting. I liked how the search for these specific numbers have been so important to mathematics. I really liked the rule where if you times 2 by a prime number and subtract 1 you will get a prime number. The one thing I thought the video was missing was explaining why some of the numbers found by this rule ending up being non-prime numbers. I was wondering if there was any way to find out if the rule holds true with the numbers. I wonder if there is any special rule that explains why there is exception to the rule of finding prime numbers. Other than that it was a great video and it was a great way to break up the week in limits and I greatly enjoyed it.

This week was pretty easy. I’ve never had much problems with limits. The sandwich therom escaped me though. I understood it after I saw the video. The video explained the therom really well and it was enjoyable to find out the basics of the therom. I liked the speaker and the style he used to explain his point. The algebra portion was a bit more difficult. Some of the questions that ask for you to solve them algebraically I was unable to solve. Thanks to the group I was in they helped me to figure out how it works together and a few other question that the other groups were doing as well. Finding infinite limits was also pretty easy. They all have to abide by a specific set of rules to have a limit. When I figured them out limits became easy. It also helped that I went over the subject in pre-algebra. Today was the first day that we were able to try giving problems to each group. It worked really well in the group that I was in. We were able to easily find the answer from the notes that our group took. I never realized how easy my calculator has made this unit. My calculator does most of the work already for me. I like the teaching style. How you let us solve the problems ourselves instead of you going right out and telling us the answers. I like that you use the answer key as a resource instead of just a grading tool. The hardest thing so far is remembering to do the confidence thing at the end of the assignment. Especially if I end up finishing it in class. I like how you use video lectures sometimes to make your point. Overall it has been a pretty easy and enjoyable week.
